Wire harness type: The windsock is fitted with a ’sewn in’ stainless steel mouth ring, four way flexible stainless steel wire harness and stainless steel swivel shackle. The swivel shackle fixes to the end of a swivel arm which is part of the windsock mast system. This type of fitting is used with small, medium and large size windsocks where the location may be inland, coastal or offshore and wind conditions are likely to be anywhere between light and harsh. We strongly recommend a wire harness type (over a rope harness type) where the windsock is going to be used in an aviation environment.

Eyelets & ties type: The windsock is fitted with a reinforced single band of brass eyelets around the mouth and supplied with black cable ties. The windsock fits over a rotating frame, which is part of the windsock mast system, and is secured in place with the supplied cable ties. This type of fitting is used with small, medium and large size windsocks where the location may be inland, coastal or offshore and wind conditions are likely to be anywhere between light and harsh. But note that this type of fitting is only suitable if you have a frame system at the top of your windsock mast
