At Windsock Company we would recommend that you check your windsock regularly to ensure that it is fully functional. Especially after a storm or long periods of inclement weather as your windsock equipment might have suffered damage. Both your windsock and all its components should be checked to ensure it is still safely operational. Because the windsock can be a critical aid to pilots and in many fields of health and safety its condition should not be left to chance.
So what to check after a storm?
Check to ensure that:
- Your windsock is not frayed or damaged.
- That your windsock is not tangled up but moving freely.
- Is your windsock still properly secured to its swivel system.
- Your windsock’s swivel system is still working and your windsock can freely rotate about 360 degrees.
- The windsock mast has not become damaged or off-centre.
- All the fittings, screws and holding down bolts are still secure.
As soon as you notice deterioration in your windsock you should order a new one. In fact we would suggest that you order two so you always have a spare.
